Top releases to watch out for in 2021

2020 was a quiet year for new movie releases, with only a handful of films released during the lockdowns across the UK. But even though some titles like No Time to Die and Black Widow have been delayed, brand new blockbusters such as Tenet and Wonder Woman 1984 were released and screened at The Drive In movie theatre in London last summer and in early 2021 respectively!

And now, even more new titles are coming to our big screen! With The Drive In reopening from Monday 12 April, check out all the never seen before brand new films coming this Spring.

Here is a list of the new releases you have to watch! Keep an eye on The Drive In What’s On page for screening schedules. These titles are scheduled in from Monday the 12th of April, tickets are available now and tickets for new releases start from £21.99 per car.

Godzilla Vs Kong (12A)

The two titanic icons of monster movies face off in the latest chapter of the Monsterverse! Directed by Adam Wingard, this brand-new release sees the legendary Godzilla face off against the mighty Kong. With humanity caught in the middle!

An elite squadron is called to investigate, to find out more about both of these monsters’ origins, but when their perilous mission into uncharted terrain unearths clues about the beasts, and how to secure the future of humankind, they discover a conspiracy that could wipe the monsters and their good-bad traits from earth forever!

The Little Things (15)

Written and Directed by John Lee Hancock, this crime thriller murder mystery finds Kern County Deputy Sheriff, Joe Deacon (Deke), in what should be a quick evidence gathering job in Los Angeles. Fate isn’t so kind however, as he becomes entangled in the search for a dangerous serial killer.

When Deke teams up with detective Baxter to crack the case it quickly becomes clear that Deke has a nose for the “little things”… But the pair have their own personal issues to deal with; Deke is embroiled with a dark secret from his past and Baxter faces a soul shattering dilemma. Starring Denzel Washington, Rami Malek and Jared Leto, this is an edge of your seat thriller not to be missed!

Judas and the black Messiah (15)

Co written and directed by Shaka King, this ground-breaking political drama explores loyalty and espionages in the Black Party Panther and its leader Fred Hampton in late 1960s Chicago.

Nominated for a phenomenal six Academy Awards, including Best Picture, petty criminal William “Bill” O’Neal is offered a plea deal by the FBI: to infiltrate the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party to gather intelligence on Chairman Fred Hampton. As O’Neal quickly starts rising through the ranks of the party he struggles with the gravity of his choices. Starring Daniel Kaluuya and LaKeith Stanfield, this electrifying new release has already received critical acclaim, multiple award nominations and united praise throughout the film world.

Tom and Jerry (PG)

THE classic tale of cat and mouse, the slapstick battles between Tom and Jerry are remembered by most. Now, they are back on the big screen for another their biggest misadventure yet! In this brand new release Jerry Mouse moves into the Royal Gate Hotel in New York and Tom is assigned the task of removing him before a big wedding takes place at the hotel.

Who will come out on top? How much carnage can they cause? There is only one way to find out! Tom and Jerry the Movie is the perfect post-lockdown treat for any family – just in time for the Easter holiday too!
